Qualifications/Expertise/Experience:

Linn Freedman, partner at Robinson+Cole, is a nationally recognized leader in privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technology law, with more than two decades of experience advising organizations on complex regulatory, litigation, and risk matters. She serves as chair of the Data Privacy + Cybersecurity practice and the Artificial Intelligence Team at her firm. Her work focuses on state and federal privacy compliance, cybersecurity preparedness and response, data breach mitigation, investigations, and litigation. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US).

Previously, Linn served as assistant attorney general and deputy chief of the Civil Division for the State of Rhode Island. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State of Rhode Island, the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 1st and 5th Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Linn has earned national recognition for her leadership in privacy and cybersecurity law, including rankings in Chambers USA since 2012 and global rankings since 2019. She has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, JD Supra, Providence Business News, and Becker’s Hospital Review for her professional achievements and thought leadership.

Active in civic and professional leadership, Linn serves as president of the Foundation for Rhode Island Day Schools and holds board leadership roles with Roger Williams University, the Rhode Island Center for Justice, and Professional Facilities Management. She is also an adjunct professor at Roger Williams University School of Law and has served on numerous legal and industry organizations, including the American Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, and International Association of Privacy Professionals.
