Qualifications/Expertise/Experience:
- Executive Director of the Oklahoma City Housing Authority (OCHA) and President/CEO of the Community Enhancement Corporation (CEC) since November 2012
- More than three decades of experience in public housing and human services, beginning his career with the City of Wichita’s Human Services Department and joining OCHA in 1991
- Leads an organization serving more than 15,000 residents in Oklahoma City, supported by an annual budget of approximately $50 million and a workforce of 225 employees
- Championed the expansion of OCHA’s community services to include homeless assistance programs, leading efforts since 2003 to construct and acquire more than 100 housing units dedicated to homeless services
- Instrumental in establishing affordable assisted living in Oklahoma City, including the development of an Adult Day Program through public-private partnerships within a renovated senior public housing community
- Played a key role in the first Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) and Section 18 Disposition conversion development in the State of Oklahoma at OCHA’s Sooner Haven property
- President of the Public Housing Authorities Directors Association (PHADA) and member of the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA)
- Member of the Oklahoma City Homeless Alliance Board of Directors
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma, and a Master’s degree in Political Science/Public Administration from Wichita State University
